Once in a while it’s worth getting up a little early to experience the most magical time of the day; a summer dawn in the Lake District. Surrounded by mountains, with the sun peeping over the eastern skyline, you’ll sample the soundtrack of this World Heritage Site as you’ve never heard it before. Drifting across the still waters of Derwentwater will come the weets and hoots of waterfowl, the incredible song of the skylark, and the squabbling of swallows, mixed with the calls of lambs in the fields leading down to the lake.
While under the surface, the rays of the breaking sun will highlight the vegetation and marine life starting out a new summer's day.
Starting at sunrise, this swim tour will take in the peaceful waters of Derwentwater, where afterwards there will be a welcome hot drink and breakfast waiting for you. In the tranquil surroundings of Derwentwater it’s possible to watch an amazing range of wildlife and birds, including skylarks, grebe, herons, dippers and kingfishers, as they go about their morning duties.
There are only 6 places on each of these swims, so get in touch soon to avoid disappointment.
