Self-styled ‘Professor of Adventure’, Millican Dalton lived for 45 years in a cave in the Borrowdale valley, sailing on a raft down the River Derwent, past Grange into Derwentwater and on to Keswick. This was in the early part of the 20th century, but we’ll pick up his journey – leaving Keswick for a cruise to Lodore, then swimming from the Lodore jetty out to St. Herbert’s Island for a picnic. We’ll return to Keswick via Derwent Isle. This is a half day tour, including the mini cruise and picnic.
